STATEMENT OF POLICY
The Company Recruitment Policy takes into account current employment legislation and must be implemented in conjunction with the Equal Opportunities Policy.

The Company will focus on its recruitment and selection procedures so that the company recruits the best possible person-to-job fit which will, when aggregated, contributes towards the Company’s effectiveness. The selected candidate should add to the credibility of the company, help expand its recourses and become an important part of the construction team. The employee should have the desired qualification as per the job requirement, person specification and fulfil the minimum criterion.
The Recruitment & Selection procedure should help managers to ensure that the criteria mentioned in the job specification are addressed.
The Company is committed to ensuring that the recruitment and selection is carried out in a manner that is efficient, effective, and systematic. It should be in harmony with the equality of opportunities.
The Company Recruitment and Selection Policy will:
- Recruit the best possible person for the job.
- Be fair and consistent.
- Follow the Equality Opportunities Policy of the Company (CCEOP). Be non-discriminatory on the grounds of gender, sexuality, race, age, religion or disability.
- Conform to statutory regulations and agreed best practice.
To ensure that the policy aims are achieved, all appointing managers will receive training in effective recruitment and selection.
There will be no conflict of interest, if a member of staff involved in the recruitment process has a family member, or a person with whom s/he has close personal relationship, which can force her or him to become biased, s/he must declare this as soon as they realise of such an applicant.
Extreme confidentiality will be kept regarding all documentation relating to applicants, this will be in accordance to the Data Protection Act (DPA). Applicants will have the right to feedback and to access any documentation held on them in accordance with the DPA.
The Recruitment personnel will take account of the area’s equal opportunities targets, by incorporating ‘positive action’ initiatives into the recruitment and selection process. Positive Action is lawful under the Race Relations Act (RRA) and Sex Discrimination Act (SDA). The Company will abstain from all levels of discrimination.
